My Japanese Lunch At Yuzu

I was thinking of blogging about my China trip today but decided to post about my lunch at Yuzu instead.

In fact, I had this lunch at Yuzu about more than two weeks ago so I guess this post is pretty much overdue.

It was my first time dining at this lovely Japanese restaurant located at the third floor of The Gardens Mall at the invitation of another blogger, Lina. She had invited me over as her office was located at Mid Valley City and I needed to pass her the souvenir I bought from Guilin. Lina was one of the winners of my "Top Three Commenters Contest".

Lina, I am also blogging about this so that you can read this before you fly off to Japan! See? I'm so nice. Haha!

This is the front entrance to the restaurant. I have to say I did not know where this restaurant is located earlier because it was tucked away at a rather secluded area!

The interior was quite nice. There were not many customers around as it was only just past noon.

We were given one of the best seats in the house, thanks to the manager and also thanks to Lina. It's nice to eat with a blogger who knows the manager yes?

interior 2

Our table is the one on the right from the photo above.

I remember saying "What a nice view!"

To which Lina said, "The view is not nice!" or something to that effect. Then I looked over the glass window and yeah, I think I agreed with her. Haha!

Now if only the view outside is something like the hills and mountains I saw from my Li River Cruise, then that would be fantastic! Well, never mind.

Anyway, I ordered the Yuzu Gozen set which was priced at RM48.

set lunch 1.2

Lina ordered the Sake Kabuto set priced at RM15.95.

lina

If you think I could remember the Japanese names of these dishes, let me tell you I could not. I just copied the names from Lina's blog post! Haha!

Also, sorry no photo of Lina as she declined to be photographed. She said she must pose first and I guess she would not pose in front of me! LOL!

I think you can see quite clearly what we ate but just to lengthen this post a bit, and if you don't mind, let me just go through what I ate with a bit more detail.

This is the stone grilled Japanese beef. It was delicious! But only 4 pieces? Where got enough? LOL!

beef

The chawanmushi or egg custard was lovely too!

chawanmushi

I am not exactly a big fan of sushi but these assorted sushi were much better than Sushi King. Well, I guess any sushi is better than Sushi King nowadays! haha!

sushi

The tempura was delicious too! Yummy!

tempura

Oh! I forgot to take close shots of the assorted sashimi and the bowl of salad! Anyway, they were delicious especially the sashimi! Gosh, I am drooling even now!

These were the side dishes of tofu and pickles or should I call them appetizers?

side dishes

I also like the tea pot soup. Complemented the meal very nicely.

It was an enjoyable lunch and made more so by Lina's "yakking". OK, Lina, you are the one who use this term, I just borrow it. Haha!

I think we talked for over 2 hours. I actually lost count on how many cups of green tea I drank! I was thinking it's about time to leave when surprise!...we were given complimentary green tea ice cream!

green tea ice cream

We were also given some red bean which I scooped onto my green tea ice cream. Red bean and green tea ice cream are truly a marriage made in heaven! Yummy!

I jokingly told Lina that maybe if we waited longer, we would get more freebies! But too bad, I got to leave and get back to work! What, you think it is a holiday for me?

interior 6

I think I have quite a good impression of this restaurant. Although it's quite expensive, once in a while is OK for me. Not only was the food delicious, the ambience was nice and the staffs were helpful and friendly.

I would definitely be back! So Lina, when's our next lunch?

Only 4 slices of beef? They should have provided more. What a luxury to have a 2 hour lunch. My one hour feels like not enuff ;)

So what did you guys 'yak' about in those 2 hours?
