After leaving HuaLamphong Station, my friend and I went to Pratunam where we did some shopping.  I wanted to buy a cap there but did not find one that I like.

We then ended back at Central World shopping mall which we went the day before. I managed to find a cap that I like at this more upscale Zen Department Store. Sorry, no photo of my new cap.

I think all the shopping made us hungry so we had an early dinner at The Terrace Restaurant in Central World. I had this Pork Loin Steak with green curry sauce served with fried Sang yod rice and butter. Sang yod rice is a type of healthy rice grown in Phatthalung province.

My friend ate Pad Thai (I did not take any picture of it).

After that, we just walked around the shopping mall. I thought the decoration at this part of the mall was interesting.

Gigantic floating book!

 photo P1250514_zpsvlc8rnbb.jpg

This is the SF World Cinema on the 7th floor of the mall, if I am not mistaken.

 photo P1250519_zpsn4mq1ir6.jpg

No, we did not go and watch any movies there. I don't fancy watching movies when I travel.

 photo P1250525_zpsgil67nns.jpg

This is an interesting art piece.

 photo P1250524_zpsdysg4zoz.jpg

We spotted the popular premium frozen yogurt store Buddhi Belly and decided to get ourselves some dessert.

Art decoration on our table.

Colorful decorations on the counter tops.

We chose original with toppings of mango, strawberry and pineapple.

 photo P1250534_zps98hxoly3.jpg

That's medium size cup and costs us about 100 baht.

 photo P1250535_zpsyxcvdbki.jpg

It was yummy! I should have ordered a whole cup for myself. Lol.

 photo P1250542_zpsvwqcbuqj.jpg

Words written on the cup explain most of it so I do not have to describe anything.

 photo P1250543_zpszc3wcygy.jpg

After finishing the yogurt, we walked around some more. It would be my last night in Bangkok. We would be leaving the next day, so I wanted to explore the mall a bit more.

 photo P1250544_zpsrfjf6amk.jpg

Took some more pictures.

 photo P1250548_zpsktfejh1m.jpg

I like the decoration here.

I think we only left when the mall was about to close. Lol. It was a good third day in Bangkok.

Window Shopping At Siam Paragon, Siam Center And Central World In Bangkok

My apologies for the long break from blogging but now I am back! My blog posts are so outdated I am actually blogging about my Bangkok trip back in 2014! I really hope you don't mind. Haha!

Anyway, it's Day 2 of my Bangkok trip in February 2014 and just to refresh you, here are some of the highlights of that day.

Pork Satay Rice @ Cafe Boran Hat Yai
Mont Nom Sod @ MBK Centre
After You Dessert Cafe @ Silom Complex

After going our separate ways in the afternoon, my friend and I decided to meet up again in the evening at Siam Paragon, a famous shopping mall in Bangkok.

 photo P1250162_zps2fj0s65y.jpg

I love the view of the shopping mall at night with all the lights and waterfall. My friend did some real shopping while I only did window shopping. Lol.

 photo P1250332_zpsyl8zisyu.jpg

I saw some red horses near the entrance of the mall.

 photo P1250341_zpsoaanxsfm.jpg

2014 was the Year of the Horse, according to the Chinese zodiac. It was just two weeks after Chinese New Year, so I guess the horses were part of the Chinese New Year decoration.

 photo P1250340_zpsvomxdpc1.jpg

It's good that the mall had not taken down the horses otherwise I wouldn't have the opportunity to see them.

 photo P1250338_zpsnuxkmbcu.jpg

Aren't they beautiful?

 photo P1250335_zpsjjcd7cpk.jpg

Love these horses! And the water reflection. So artistic.

 photo P1250334_zpscw52u6lk.jpg

We then walked over to Siam Center next door. Yes, not many people around. I guess it was a weekday, maybe?

 photo P1250333_zpsl53v58ck.jpg

Inside Siam Center, we passed by Mr Jones' Orphanage, a famous dessert cafe that has lots of teddy bears and soft toys as decoration. Unfortunately, we did not try the cakes and dessert there. The timing just wasn't right. Maybe I will visit it next time I go Bangkok.

 photo P1250327_zpsdt1lnuww.jpg

At the time of my visit, Line toys were the rage in Bangkok. These toys and merchandise were not yet available in Malaysia so I was really tempted to buy them!

 photo P1250322_zpsm5kjlgl6.jpg

That's Cony, with two different expressions.

 photo P1250321_zpszt1uppy8.jpg

And Brown. I like Brown. But at 1,300 baht? I think I better spend my money on food instead. Hahaha!

 photo P1250320_zpsrg6j0bpp.jpg

Plush doll heads.

 photo P1250319_zps1nwuctdp.jpg

These are cute. Should I just grab one? ...... Don't think so.

 photo P1250316_zpsk4kddp0g.jpg

Maybe socks are more useful? ...... Nah. Lol!

 photo P1250323_zpsrjqmfbef.jpg

So after leisurely browsing around Siam Center, we decided to walk back to Siam Paragon to search for something to eat. You might be wondering - how come we did not eat at Mr Jones' Orphanage earlier? Well, we needed real food, not cakes and dessert. Lol.

 photo P1250331_zps2280lxbw.jpg

As it turned out, we did not eat at Siam Paragon. Instead, we walked all the way over to Central World nearby and dined at Black Canyon Coffee.

 photo P1250345_zpsmihnrt8e.jpg

You see, Siam Paragon, Siam Centre and Central World are all in close proximity to each other, so it's really no problem walking from one mall to the other. I was so glad they had the malls all lined up in such a way. Thank you Bangkok, for being so brilliant!

 photo P1250346_zpsdnaslrrd.jpg

I had a cup of hot tea latte with biscuits. Not bad!

And a plate of tom yum noodles. It was delicious, but very spicy!

 photo P1250351_zpsrgxukg9u.jpg

I think I forgot to take photos of what my friend ate because I just could not find those photos. Well, it had been 2 years. Things disappear sometimes, don't they? Haha! I really should try and be more updated in my blogging from now on! :)

Mont Nom Sod @ MBK Centre, Bangkok

There is a hidden gem in Bangkok and it's this cafe called Mont Nom Sod located on the 2nd floor of MBK (Mah Boonkrong) Centre.

If you like toasts or bread and milk, then this is the place to go to! This is my toasts with condensed milk and butter (left) and toasts with original coconut custard (right). Both were delicious, and each was priced at only 23 baht!

And my cup of slightly sweet hot milk to go with the toasts! 32 baht.

My friend ordered toasts with coconut custard and chocolate spreads, but I forgot to take photos of them! The toast with chocolate spread was a little bit more expensive at 25 baht.

We went to MBK Centre right after our morning trip to Or Tor Kor Market and our early lunch of pork satay rice at Cafe Boran Hat Yai. As soon as we stepped into the cafe, we scanned the menu displayed behind the counter and were delighted to find so many different types of spreads.

You can order toasts with sugar (only 18 baht), condensed milk, original coconut custard (orange color), coconut custard (green color), marmalade jam, corn soup (all at 23 baht each), strawberry jam, chocolate and taro custard. (the last three were priced at 25 baht each).

They have two types of bread - the toasted bread topped with your choice of spreads, and the soft steamed bread that comes with dips. However the dips were limited to just original coconut custard, coconut custard (both priced at 65 baht) and chocolate (70 baht) only.

And they have many of these packaged for takeaways.

The place is famous for their milk, so make sure you order their milk if you come here. You can choose either hot or cold milk. But they are slightly sweetened, although I would have preferred non sweetened as the toasts were already sweet.

Loaves and loaves of bread on the rack.

Yummy spreads!! The orange and green coconut custards are similar to our Malaysian kaya but I found that the original coconut custard (orange color) has a much stronger coconut taste.

They even sell cakes with coconut custard dips. Hmmm, I think I would prefer to just eat those cakes on its own without the dips.

I really, really like their toasts! They were crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside.

The condensed milk with butter was sinfully delicious! Definitely not healthy, but it was like comfort food to me.

It's good to know that all of Mont's products are preservative-free as they are made fresh daily.

Actually, I would have preferred a cup of coffee instead of just milk.  But no complaints about the milk though.

First started in 1964 selling toasts from the street, Mont Nom Sod had grown and become a successful chain in Thailand.

Not many people when we went there that day. Probably it was lunch time, and the locals do not normally eat bread for lunch.

I liked it enough to buy a pack of steamed bread and coconut custard dip for takeaway.
