Happy New Year 2009!

Posted by : foongpc | Wednesday, December 31, 2008 | Published in

Today is the last day of 2008. It has been a year full of challenges, successes and failures, happiness and sorrow, a year filled with laughters and tears. It is also the year I discovered the exciting world of blogging.

The year that is so full of memories for me, is now coming to an end. So before the curtain closes on 2008, I would like to bid it a good farewell.

I am happy to say that I am leaving this year with no regrets. Whatever decisions I made I know that it was the best decision I made under the circumstances at that time. But I do know that for things to change, I will have to do things differently. Because if I keep doing what I'm doing, I am going to keep getting what I'm getting.

Tomorrow marks a brand new year, with new inspirations and new hopes! I would like to take this opportunity to wish all readers and all fellow bloggers a very happy and smashing 2009!!

With the craze of Mamma Mia The Musical still around, I would like to leave you with this wonderful song sung by ABBA. It's called HAPPY NEW YEAR.

For those who prefer much younger artists, here's the same song sung by A-Teens.

Whichever video you choose, why not sing along with the lyrics below?

No more champagne
And the fireworks are through
Here we are, me and you
Feeling lost and feeling blue
It's the end of the party
And the morning seems so grey
So unlike yesterday
Now's the time for us to say...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every
neighbour is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our
hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as
well lay down and die
You and I

Sometimes I see
How the brave new world arrives
And I see how it thrives
In the ashes of our lives
Oh yes, man is a fool
And he thinks he'll be okay
Dragging on, feet of clay
Never knowing he's astray
Keeps on going anyway...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every
neighbour is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our
hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as
well lay down and die
You and I

Seems to me now
That the dreams we had before
Are all dead, nothing more
Than confetti on the floor
It's the end of a decade
In another ten years time
Who can say what we'll find
What lies waiting down the line
In the end of eighty-nine...(2008)...

Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every
neighbour is a friend
Happy new year
Happy new year
May we all have our
hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as
well lay down and die
You and I

2008 is not a good year to me. Because my family encountered the Wenchuan earthquake, and we lost our house at my second hometown.

But I think everything will get better, If I work hard.

Hope you a happy new year!

As 2008 comes to an end
Our New Year greetings we send
    To friends far and near
    Especially to ones so dear

We seem like friends since long ago
    Tho' we've never met before
Our thoughts and feelings we share
And in our own small way, we care

As we count down the seconds to midnight
Pray eveything will turn out right
Let's hope 2009 will bring good cheer.
May our paths cross in the coming year.

P.S. I thought of linking this song to my post...but I prefer the one I've chosen. You like my choice?

Wah, you leave such a nice sajak at my blog and all I can leave you is this:
May you not trod on bullshit in the year of the bull and also may 2009 bring you less cows, less bullshit, more pretty gals, more money, less headache and more fun!
Now, be a good boy and don't get drunk in all the festivities and start hitting on ugly old aunties. Trust me, you don't want to wake up tomorrow and see an old hag snoring next to you. lol.

Heheheh...I'm not a sajak / poem writing person mah, wat2do...

What a coincidence about the ABBA song. I put it up on my blog just last night. Lovely song though a little sad. Still, plenty to look forward to, right?

rad, don't be jealous. You can do it too! Just need some hard work and lots of passion in blogging. Good luck!! : )

iwalk, sorry to hear you lost your house in the earthquake. I'm sure things will only get better from now on, and I wish you all the best!! : )

jim, you can do it too. You don't need any blogging luck, just hard work and lots and lots of passion for blogging, and that includes reading other people's blogs. Remember the law of Attraction? Put it to work, yes? : )

faisal, how come you sound so sad? Cheer up, my friend! I will try to play a song for you when I've got the time to do some recording. I'll try my best, OK? : )

suituapui, yes I like that song sung by Lea Salonga. She's a favourite singer of mine since Aladdin days. She's better suited to sing in musicals, definitely not a pop or commercial singer.
